Pierce Brown’s 'Iron Gold' Succeeds His 'Red Rising' Trilogy

Pierce wants to expand the universe and who knows maybe in the next two books he might expand with them. Ephraim is trig's husband and we will get the view of a gray mercenary, Lyria is a red from the mines and we will get her view point from leaving the mines to the place for reds now and Lysander is out in the outer reaches of space with Cassius so who knows what he's up to.

Iron Gold by Pierce Brown

Darrow's final confrontation with the ash lord was, in my opinion, some of the best stuff of iron gold. That dialogue between the two was thoughtful and there was a mutual respect between the two warlords. Towards the end of this verbal exchange when the ash lord informed Darrow and Sevro about the kidnapping of their kids is the moment.

Thankfully, Iron Gold is nothing of the sort. Brown delves right back into the vivid world he created without missing a beat, and if you had any worries about his ability to voice more than one POV character, please dispel them now. While I can't say too much - it would be the absolute opposite of prime for me to spoil Iron Gold for you.

Iron Gold, especially on a reread, in many ways feels like a necessity. An inevitability, even. Something that the original trilogy was leading toward all along. The book begins with a ten year time jump, and it reinvigorates the series on almost every level. It changes the stakes, the circumstances, and the passage of time is believable.

Found out Iron Gold is a nearperfect match for the Conflux Control ornament, threw this

But I loved his character in Iron Gold, that he had become a sad drunk after losing everything he ever cared for but seemed to find the honor he had pretended to have in the first three books. He was less petulant, and he made all the right decisions despite how pathetic his station may have become, and while Lysander may not always listen to.
